Trio Guara's first álbum, “Pra Quê Tudo isso”, consists of 9 compositions by pianist Flávio Iannuzzi, who is also the creator of the project.
The Trio has strong influence in Samba-Jazz, but not only. The Trio found its sound through other Latin genres as well as from classics of the Brazilian popular repertoire. 2 years after putting together to play in São Paulo circuit, they went into the studio to take a step towards authorial music, worrying about sounding like a generous and frank conversation between the instruments, as you can see in the arrangements made by Flávio, Noa and Marcos.
The recording was made at the home of bassist Noa, live and in the same room, as you can see in the videos. The objective was to record the sound exactly as it is done in the rehearsals, with the nuances and intentions that assemble the musical concept of the Trio. The sensitive and efficient sound capture of Ricardo Cassis, from the Conexão de São Paulo studio, who also did the mixing, keeps the musical intentions of Trio Guará intact.
We hope you enjoy “Pra Quê Tudo Isso?” the first of several Trio Guará records, now on Bandcamp.
